We poured everything into it. And you know what? It tanked. Hard. We were so busy being “innovative” and “agile” that we forgot to ask if anyone actually wanted what we were building. That failure, it stung. But it taught me a hell of a lot more than any “New Moon Forum” probably could.
So when I go to these events now, I’m looking past the buzzwords. I’m trying to see if there’s any real heart there, any genuine problem being solved. Or if it’s just another echo chamber. This forum? It felt mostly like the latter. Lots of shiny surfaces, not much underneath.
I didn’t stay for the whole thing. The endless chatter and the forced smiles started to get to me. Stepped outside, and the humid Shenzhen air actually felt like a breath of fresh air. It’s good that this drive exists, this constant churning. It’s what makes this city tick. But for me, I think I’m looking for a different kind of “new.” Something a bit more real, a bit more lasting. Not just the next fad. Guess that’s just part of getting older, finding your own rhythm instead of trying to dance to everyone else’s tune.
