My Trip Down to a Luohu Water Club

So, I heard some talk about these ’95’ places down in Luohu, Shenzhen. Curiosity got the better of me, you know how it is. Figured I’d see what all the fuss was about myself. Wasn’t expecting miracles, just wanted to, like, experience it firsthand.

Getting there was easy enough, Luohu’s pretty straightforward. Found a place that looked like the type people were mentioning. Big entrance, lots of lights, looked kind of fancy but also a bit… much? Anyway, I walked in.

Inside, the lobby was huge. Lots of staff milling about. Went up to the counter, a bit awkward, wasn’t sure exactly what to ask for. The person there just sort of sized me up, you know? Gave me a wristband thingy and pointed me towards the changing rooms. Standard stuff first, lockers, showers, a big pool area with some older guys just soaking. Felt like any other bathhouse at first.

Changing and Waiting Around

Got changed into their robe thing. Then a staff guy came over, didn’t say much, just led me through a bunch of corridors. It felt different back here, quieter, dimmer lights. He took me to a small waiting area, lots of couches, other guys sitting around looking bored or scrolling on their phones. The vibe was definitely… different. Not relaxed like a normal spa.

The Main Event… Sort Of

Eventually, I got led to a smaller room. Pretty basic setup. The whole ’95’ part… well, let’s just say it felt very procedural. Like they had a script. It wasn’t relaxing or anything special, more like just going through the motions. Honestly, felt a bit rushed and impersonal. Hard to explain, but it wasn’t the amazing experience some people make it out to be. Seemed mostly about getting you in and out.

My Takeaway

Paid up at the end, felt quite pricey for what it was. Left the place feeling kind of… meh. Wasn’t terrible, wasn’t great. Just another thing ticked off the list, I guess. Don’t think it’s really my scene. It’s one of those things you maybe try once just to see, but yeah, probably won’t be rushing back. Just felt a bit hollow, you know?
